A love letter to London’s lost queer spaces

Since 2006, almost half of London’s LGBT+ venues have disappeared.
Some replaced by big developments in gentrified neighbourhoods. Some not replaced at all.
We wanted to remember those lost and help those left, so we created Take Me to the Club.
A website full of photos and memories from the people who danced, loved and found
themselves in these places.

We reached out to people and Facebook groups who visited these spaces,
asking for memories, quotes and images. Then we compiled them ,
crafting stories about each of them on the site. Visitors could see
photos of venues in their prime, then see what’s taken their place.
Underlining the life and energy these venues add to their communities.
Then we directed them to our Just Giving page, with all proceeds going
towards supporting queer performers.
